As you can tell from the photos, site selection has been an ongoing thing, but we have settled on the spot and are ready to begin excavation in about 10 days. Dan Whittle, the concrete specialist; Mayor Hilary Gordon, Gary Arrington, Lisa Chamberlain, Ryan Whittle and I met to discuss various options for actual placement. The result is what I think the best possible location and orientation for the monument. The snow photos give you an idea about the spectacular scenery which will be visible above the monument.
Dan and Ryan placed stakes, painted the ground, and we are set for excavation to begin the first week of July!
