On to the slurry room

Once all sprues are on and checked, the wax sections move on to the slurry room. Here each wax is dipped in a ceramic slurry, drained, coated with sand while the slurry is still wet, then hung to dry completely. This process is repeated 7 times creating a thick ceramic/sand coating over the entire wax panel, sprues, and pouring cup. Again, an important process as the resulting ceramic shell will determine the shape of the finished bronze. It takes about 10 working days for a wax to make it through the slurry room.
